Excellent food and atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Great stop for a quick lunch. Soup excellent, sandwiches ok.
Excellent food. Great lunch.
Absolutely delicious soup. As others have noted, this cash-only restaurant has 4 soup options and 2 sandwich options daily. Beyond the soup though, the venue has some character. From the Polish knick knacks to a sampling of the owner's books to the converted house that is the restaurant, this place has more personality than anywhere else around.
Tasty food you can tell is fresh made. Had the chili which had a nice kick to it. Bread that comes with the soup is tasty too! Like that there's usually at least one vegetarian option, want to go back and try more of the rotating menu!
A delicious must-stop for a quick bite!!!
What we had was good, but not many choices.
Rich content in simple form. Small menu yet amazingly delicious! You can tell the chef loves to cook, and knows just the right amounts of herbs and spices to use not to overpower the dish, but to add distinctiveness to the way it tastes. The name of the place comes from a cute story, of learning from the elders. Ask the owner about it if it's not busy. The place, even though it's hidden has a lot of visitors. I will always stop by whenever I'm in the area. The place is a little tricky to find, so please don't lose your patience looking for it. I absolutely love places like that where the owner is the chef!
Really bland, not cheap, and the guy running the place is smug. It seems to be a local favorite, but it's nothing special.
Great soup
Loved it. Discovered it last summer on a 90° day and still enjoyed the wonderful soup and experience.
You just can't go wrong by choosing Czarnusczka's Soup Bar, especially on a cool day. They serve a limited selection of truly homemade soups and sandwiches, including vegetarian options. It a little difficult to find. Just turn in the same parking lot as Ephraim Clayworks and drive to the back. Note that this is a cash-only location. Choose indoor seating with quirky decor, or dine on the porch with fresh herbs as centerpieces.
Very good even on a warm day
Great soup! Reasonable price!
Amazing soup amazing price! Cash or check only!
Found this cute little place tucked away in Ephraim. Great homemade soups! Got to eat outside in October!
The soups were excellent, the sandwich I had was great and the owner was remarkably friendly.
Great soups and service
Excellent soup. Very cute place. As much of Door County- place is off the road in a little hidden area. Not much indoor seating- not a place for large groups. Cute shops surrounding it.
Enjoyed. Just good soup. Looking forward to our next visit.
Excellent hand crafted soups and sandwiches made by the delightful owner!
Wonderful place. Simple menu yet has delicious options for every requirement. Has gluten free and vegetarian options, which is not easy to find! Cute name of the place stands for black cumin in Polish. Will come back for sure!
Cute and cozy little spot with delicious soup! Great service
Delicious soup and chili! Made the trip specifically to Ephraim for this stuff and was not disappointed. Seating is a little limited for larger groups, but we made it work. Getting a $10 bowl of soup, sandwich, and soda in an area dominated by expensive food is very nice.
Nice little soup bar tucked away off of the main road in a local style strip of shops. I went in a little peckish, there was a chalkboard with roughly 6 different soups on it there were three size options I ordered the smallest which was the size of a coffee cup and it came with a slice of bread it was the perfect size. There is enough seating indoors for about 10 people and then some outdoor patio seating for about 10 more. There is a cooler with some refreshment options of soda and juice. Czarnuszkas has a nice feel to it with the walls adorned with random 90's band stickers and of establishments of around wisconsin. Whether looking for a snack or a meal you will leave here satisfied!
Great place to stop for a sandwich or soup. Paul the owner is making soup continously, so it is fresh and hot. My wife had the Bohemian potato soup and I had the Polish sausage and sauerkraut soup. Both were great. Nice Polish and Czech decor.
Delicious soup and bread, great little lunch stop or take it to go and eat out by the bay.
We had the herbed country pork soup and it was delicious!
Our family comes to Door County twice a year and Czarnuszka’s is always a required stop. Easily the best soup I have ever had. I keep a Czarnuszka’s wooden bowl on my desk as a reminder of the beauty of DC.
The soups at Czarnuszkas are so amazing that we went there twice this week!
NOT IN FISH CREEK AS GOOGLE SAYS. IN EPHRAIM!! (See pics) Two tables, 4 seats each. Two counter seats. Lots more room to sit outside. Good soup. Changes daily. CLOSED WEDNESDAYS. OPEN 11-5. Enjoyed soup. Will go back!
Fantastic little place. Can never go wrong with soup.
One of our favorite places to go. Homemade soups and always at least one or two gluten free options.
Soup is AWESOME!! Had a great Lunch. Stopped on the way back home and grabbed some more soup to bring home.
Loved it! We had 2 different soups and both were great.
Amazing soup. One of our favorite stops in Door County. One of the main reasons we come to Ephraim. Delicious.
Delicious soup..great after a couple miles of snow shoeing. Bread was yummy too.
Both of our soups were absolutely delicious. Good selection of canned and bottled drinks. They always have 4 soups and 2 sandwiches which is plenty because it's still hard to decide. Great for omnivores, herbivores, and GF folk. The space is so welcoming and cozy.
In Ephraim - great soup and cute shop nearby
A previous reviewer said the owner was smug, and I have to agree. It's a little shop and the owner really rubbed us the wrong way. Possibly the guy watched too many Seinfeld reruns. Who knew being the local soup messiah could go to your head? Also, cash only. In a resort town. And this guy serves a lot of soup. Connect those dots as you see fit.
Just down right awesome soup! The rhythm chilli is perfect heat, and great every time. I believe it's only available on Saturdays. Every soup I've had here is spot on delicious. Make time in your Door County visit, to make a visit here. Call or check ahead for hours. Voted by me to be "the most non touristy thing to do in Door County. "
A delightful hidden find for lunch in DC. Small place with a very specialized pattern of four wonderful soups each day. Owner/chef/greeter/cashier...all one guy who is terrific. We go here every time we are in Door County. Don't miss it.
Hidden gem. I’ve missed it for nine years!!
Bland. No taste. Disappointed.
The soups here are made to order each day so call to check! The chef owner makes everything from scratch and treats his soups like a work of art. I love this place. It is rather tight on seating but they seem to manage to fit everyone in.
Cozy place with personal touches and very delicious soup at a great price! This place felt like a little haven in Door County because it's real food and not overpriced like so many other places. Great after a long day of autumn hiking! Only cash accepted.
Great soup and chili. Very flavorful
Soup & Sandwich at CZ. Very good soups, sandwich not spectacular bud and made with real fresh ingredients in all. Cash only
Nice man good soup big lunch business open 11 to 5 closed wensday gives out soup samples
Not only the best soup on Door County, but the best soups that I have ever had. Worth the stop when you are up in Door County.
